Basic Training

Once you have gotten your paperwork and gear squared away you will be ready to meet your squad leader.  In your “new world” the Squad leader runs the show.  Since you’re going to go out to battle on Saturday morning and there isn’t much time to waste, your SL will probably want to get you going on learning the basic skills of the soldier right away.

There are 3 aspects of study that are covered in our “basic training”:

1) The proper way to WEAR and CARE for your uniform and gear.

2) The SCHOOL of the soldier, which includes your STEPS &         FACINGS, MANUAL OF ARMS and MARCHING.

3) RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. In order to participate in a battle you will need to know the rules we fight by.

Please give yourself over as completely as you can to the training.   Let’s be honest- without mastery of these most basic elements of soldiering, you will never be able to truly Reenact.

It’s all pretty simple, but your full attention and desire will be required to master the skills quickly and fully.

The School of the Soldier skills that we teach and expect you to master are:

2.     Count off
